The 24 female students, kidnapped from the Government Girls Comprehensive Senior Secondary School (GGCSS), Maga, Kebbi State, have regained their freedom through a peaceful resolution facilitated by the Federal Government.
According to reports, the release of all the abducted victims was made possible by coordinated efforts from officials of the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) and the Department of State Services (DSS), that adopted a non-kinetic approach, emphasising dialogue and negotiation over military force.
The abduction had sparked widespread concern nationwide, prompting the Chief of Army Staff to order intensified search-and-rescue operations.
The successful release brings relief to the affected families and the community, marking a notable shift in the government’s strategy to address mass abduction crises through peaceful means.
