Turkish Super Lig champions, Galatasaray, have placed an €80 million release clause on Nigerian striker, Victor Osimhen, following growing interest from Spanish giants, Barcelona.

The Catalan club are understood to have stepped up plans to secure a new No. 9 ahead of the summer transfer window, with Osimhen emerging as a prime target in their attacking overhaul.

According to Turkish outlet Takvim, Galatasaray have fixed €80 million as the starting point for negotiations, making it clear that Barcelona—or any interested club—must meet the hefty valuation to prise the prolific forward away from Istanbul.

Beyond the transfer fee, Barcelona would also need to shoulder Osimhen’s reported annual salary of around €19 million, potentially making the deal one of the most expensive striking acquisitions in Europe this summer.

Osimhen, 27, has been in impressive form for the Cimbom this season, scoring 15 goals and providing one assist in 21 appearances across all competitions. His sharp movement, aerial dominance and clinical finishing have quickly endeared him to Galatasaray fans after his high-profile arrival last summer.

The Nigerian international joined the Turkish giants for a record-breaking €75 million fee, the highest in the club’s history. Despite only spending one season in the Super Lig, his performances have reignited interest from several clubs across Europe’s top five leagues, many of whom are seeking a proven frontman to spearhead their attacks.

Barcelona’s pursuit signals their intent to reinforce their frontline with an established goal scorer capable of delivering consistently at the highest level. However, Galatasaray’s firm stance suggests any suitor must pay a premium for one of Africa’s most sought-after forwards.

With the summer window approaching, Osimhen’s future is set to dominate transfer headlines as Europe’s heavyweights weigh the cost of securing his signature.
