Ambassador Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo, a governorship aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State, has extended warm wishes to Muslims and Christians as they commence Ramadan and Lent today, Wednesday February 18, 2026.
In a statement made available to journalists in Ibadan, he emphasised that the coincidence of the two holy periods is a sign that both religions worship the same God.
Oguntoyinbo, who urged adherents to live peacefully and tolerate each other, stated: “Let’s live peacefully, let’s tolerate each other and pray for the success of those in government.”
He also called on Nigerians to pray for the country’s economic and security challenges, saying, “Our country is going through a lot of hardship.
“The economic problem and the pervading insecurity requires our prayers and we should use the opportunity of the time of pureness to seek the face of the Almighty God.”
He reminded Christians and Muslims of the importance of respecting and praying for their leaders, as taught by their religions.
“I wish the Muslims and Christians, happy Ramadan and Lent. Let’s use the period to reflect on the love, tolerance and peaceful living that the two religions preaches,” Oguntoyinbo said.
