The University of Lagos (UNILAG), Akoka, has released its 2026/2027 UTME merit admission cut-off marks, with Medicine and Surgery recording the highest score of 83.425, followed by Computer Engineering at 82.175 and Computer Science at 82.05.

The university’s official admission notice, released on Wednesday, also put Mechanical Engineering at 79.275, Law at 79.125 and Dentistry at 79.025.

The release ends weeks of waiting by prospective students, parents and guardians seeking admission into the institution for the new academic session.

According to the university, the cut-off marks represent the UTME merit admission thresholds for the various programmes, while separate figures apply to candidates from the institution’s catchment states.

For Medicine and Surgery, for instance, the merit mark is 83.425, while the catchment figures are Lagos, 79.1; Ekiti, 79.425; Oyo, 80.05; Ogun, 81.75; Ondo, 81.35; and Osun, 79.825.

In Engineering, Computer Engineering recorded 82.175, Mechanical Engineering 79.275, Electrical Engineering 79.025, Systems Engineering 78.8, Biomedical Engineering 77.05, Petroleum and Gas Engineering 75.025, Civil Engineering 74.35, Chemical Engineering 72.925 and Metallurgical and Materials Engineering 67.025.
Surveying and Geoinformatics Engineering had 66.075.

The Faculty of Dental Sciences placed Dentistry at 79.025, while the Faculty of Health Professions recorded 77.925 for Nursing Sciences, 77.375 for Radiography, 76 for Physiotherapy and 75.075 for Medical Laboratory Science.

In the Faculty of Computing and Informatics, Computer Science stood at 82.05, Cybersecurity at 66.075, Software Engineering at 59.25 and Artificial Intelligence at 53.2.

Law had a merit cut-off of 79.125, with catchment figures of 75.975 for Ekiti, 75.15 for Lagos, 77.275 for Ogun, 75.55 for Ondo, 75.25 for Osun and 76.35 for Oyo.

In Communication and Media Studies, Mass Communication recorded 74.6, Broadcasting 63.1 and Public Relations 61.225. Architecture had a cut-off mark of 72.9.

The Arts programmes recorded varying thresholds, with Linguistics at 72.575, Chinese 71.625, History and Strategic Studies 70.8, German 69.125, English 68.15, Philosophy 67.725, French 64, Linguistics/Yoruba 60.35, Islamic Religious Studies 56.35, Christian Religious Studies 55.825 and Russian 55.45.

The Basic Medical Sciences recorded 74.275 for Pharmacology, 72.7 for Anatomy and 71.125 for Physiology. In Creative Arts, Theatre Arts had 71.5, Film Production 69.625, Fine and Applied Arts 66.53 and Music 63.45.

The Faculty of Social Sciences recorded 73.625 for Economics, 70.475 for Public Administration, 65.65 for Political Science and 55.7 for Geography.

The Education programmes recorded some of the lowest cut-off marks among the listed courses. Education Integrated Science had the highest at 66.7, followed by Education English at 66.475.

Other figures were Education Business, 62.3; Education History, 62.575; Education IRS, 60.475; Early Childhood Education, 60.45; Education Geography, 59.975; Adult Education, 59.325; Education Biology, 57.4; Education Yoruba, 57.825; Education CRS, 57; Education Mathematics, 57; Education Physics, 56.05; Education Home Economics, 55.575; Education Chemistry, 53.375; Education Technology, 53.025; Health Education, 53.5; Human Kinetics, 52.525; Special Education, 52.25; and Education Economics, 49.65.

The university advised prospective students, parents, guardians and members of the public to take note of the officially released figures as the admission process progresses.
